Art 20/1/23 - LO: to explore painting techniques
In Art today we were exploring with different painting techniques using watercolours. After considering which techniques we liked and didn't like, we spent the rest of the session painting the Galapagos Islands.
Science 13/1/23 - LO: to investigate why animals of the same species have different characteristics.
In Science today we were investigating why Charles Darwin observed different Finches to have different beaks. We simulated different beaks and different foods and gathered our data. We concluded that certain beaks are better suited to certain food types.
Science 23/11/22 LO: to construct a simple circuit and investigate what impacts on the brightness of a bulb
WW2 Topic Launch - Tudor House Visit 1/11/2022
For our WW2 topic launch, we had the fantastic opportunity to take a trip to Tudor House in Worcester. We heard from Alec (an evacuee in WW2), as well as workshops on Rationing, and "Make do and mend". Hearing from Alec really helped to bring it to life for the children, as he recounted his first hand experiences, which are often hard to convey to them. Seeing how much food you would have to live on each week was also quite a shock to some of us! We are looking forward to learning much more about WW2 in the coming weeks.
