Christmas

17.12.21 Last day of term and Mrs Hart’s last day after 32 years at KPS. We will miss her very much!

16.12.21 Visiting Father Christmas

Week Beginning 13.12.21

This week the children have been consolidating their previous learning. We have been writing lists in English and counting accurately in Mathematics. The children have been pretending to be baristas in our role play coffee shop and re enacting the Christmas Story by the manger!

The classroom has been covered in straw, the children have been coated in glitter and shaving foam (snow/whipped cream) BUT we have had so much fun to celebrate the last week of term.

Tomorrow is the last day of their first term at school and they have all settled in fantastically. We cannot wait to see what exciting opportunities the next term brings. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,

Love the Chestnut Team x

Christmas Jumper Day!

Week Beginning 6.12.21

This week the children have continued with their Christmas themed learning. We have been busy writing words and letters in snow, writing and sending post cards to our family members, creating and practising something super special for Mrs Hart and exploring the different types of Christmas meals that are had around the world.

The children really enjoyed learning about the different ways children prepare for Father Christmas in different counties. On Friday the most exciting thing happened… the Grinch came to school! He went through everyone’s classrooms, stealing things and ruining their decorations in the hope to ruin Christmas. Chestnut wrote lovely things to the Grinch to make his heart grow. After reading our messages, Mr Grinch decided to return all the items he had taken and the panic was over!

This week brought with it the FIRST OF DECEMBER! The children quickly got into the Christmas spirit by decorating our classroom ready for the PTFA’s best decorated classroom competition. The children have been very busy cutting, sticking, glueing, colouring, hanging, wrapping and singing.

Our entries into chef elf’s competition can be seen displayed in the hall!

We are very much looking forward to lots more Christmas themed learning activities next week.
