14.2.22 - 18.2.22

We have loved participating in wellbeing week! On Thursday we were challenged to make KPS in the most creative ways we could. We had a great class discussion and put our ideas on a mind map. Some children decided to work as a team and some took on the challenge alone! It was really lovely to watch the children problem solve as a class team (especially when the water bottles created a number 2, rather than an S).

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs!

31.1.22

This week we have been exploring how to combine 2 groups of numbers. The children have worked really hard with this (as you can see in the pictures). After reading the Shoemaker and the Elves this week we have talked lots about kindness and how we can demonstrate this towards each other.  We have also designed and created our own magic pairs of shoes. Next week our fairy tale focus is… SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS! 

Groundhog Day 2022

24.1.22

This week our story focus has been ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. The children have had a fantastic time counting magic beans, using props and story stones to re-enact the story, cutting out leafs and creating our own class beanstalk. As you can see from the photos below - we have had lots of fun! 

17.1.22

This week the children have thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. They have sequenced the story, created speech bubbles and even created their own endings to the story. Miss Dawson and I read some fantastic endings that involved London, army soldiers, apologies, dance parties and trips to the moon!

On Friday we discussed some book specifics, including, what an author and illustrator are, what a blurb is and where it is found!

Next week in reception we are reading ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’

We have only had one day at school this week but we definitely managed to fit lots of learning in to it!

It has been lovely to have the children back in school after the Christmas break. They are all very happy to be back and have settled right back into school life. Here are just a few pictures of what we have been up to. Next week we will begin our fairy tale topic!
