Learning Journey Spring
This week in computing we have explored the use of simulations and how they benefit professions. The children were lucky enough to become space cadets and blast off into space. They had to navigate through missions and reply to communications through email in this space simulation.
Into the woods
Our topic for the start of the spring term is called Into the Woods. Each week the children will answer a different question and will use geographical skills to do so. The main line of enquiry is, why are forests so important?
In our length and perimeter work we have been measuring and converting a variety of measurements. We explored if there was a link between height and the length of a jump. As well as, height and the length of our feet.
Week Commencing 30th January
This week we have worked to edit, present and finish our work based on The Secret of the Black Rock. Please see some examples bellow of the Children's hard work this unit.
The Secret of the Black Rock
This week we warmed up with a racket relay! We have now begun to practice precise hits with a forehand.
This week we completed a plant dissection! We reviewed the key parts of a plant that we knew and expanded on this to learn new key words. To apply this knowledge we identify and labeled the parts of a flower.
Our focus this week has been to design and make a healthy packed lunch. To achieve this we have learnt all about the Eat Well plate and the food groups in our diets. We have completed market research of the foods that are enjoyed by those in our class. Finally, we designed and made a healthy packed lunch- focusing on chopping skills and a lunchbox with variety in.
