Fairy Tales

11.2.22

This week was a Snow White week. We have measured objects and compared their length and their height and doubled the amount of items by looking at them in the mirror. We also changed the phrase ‘mirror mirror on the wall who is the……….. of them all’ and sequenced the story. Everyone loved making repeated patterns when they were apple printing!

We have read Jack and the Beanstalk and The Elves and the Shoemaker over the last couple of weeks. We looked closely at beans and planted some in plastic wallets so that we could watch their roots and shoots grow. We also looked closely at our shoes and designed some new ones with repeated patterns on them.

This week we enjoyed making dragons and comparing Chinese writing to our own during Chinese New Year activities; learning facts about groundhogs on Groundhog Day; and thinking about teamwork and fairness while we watched parts of the Winter Olympics opening ceremony. We thought the athletes must be very determined and resilient to get to the Olympics and hoped that one day one of us might be there!

Our topic this term is Fairy tales. We have already had some fun with the Gingerbread Man and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We were even able to watch the pantomime ‘Sleeping Beauty’.

Our Gingerbread Men were really tasty!
