That’s it…. We have come to the end of the children's first term at school! Although it is one of the longest terms, now we are at the end, we can’t believe how quickly it has come.
We have had a fun filled week. The children have read the story ‘A Letter to Father Christmas’ and participated in a variety of Christmas activities. We counted and completed simple addition and subtraction sums and coloured repeated patterns on the baubles and snow man scarves. On Tuesday the children were really proud to show you there performance and I’m sure you would agree they were all brilliant. On Wednesday Santa brought his reindeer to visit us. That was very exciting as you can imagine as the children were allowed to stroke them. We also enjoyed wearing our Santa hats to our Christmas Lunch.
Jingles, our Elf has said goodbye to us today because he needs to go and help Santa now!
We have had a fun filled week of Christmas activities. We ordered numbers on Christmas trees and the alphabet on baubles. We drew snowmen and Christmas trees and decorated baubles with finger prints. We retold Christmas stories in pretend snow and used sugar cubes to create igloos. Jingles, our class Elf, felt sorry that we didn't have any real snow so he left us some in a science experiment. It really did look and feel like real snow when we had made it!
We also made an enormous reindeer from our recycled materials!
Yesterday we were all very excited because it was December at last! A tree appeared in the classroom and we found out an Elf called Jingles had brought it. He is going to be our class elf for the next couple of weeks. He is very kind. We asked him for some silver decorations to go on it and today there was a big box wrapped in a ribbon under the tree and inside were the decorations.
