Kempsey Primary School

To learn with respect and belief; to challenge, create and dream!

History

At Kempsey Primary School, we aim to teach the children a range of events from a variety of different time periods. To facilitate learning, the children are given quality first teaching, access to primary and secondary resources as well as provided opportunities for educational visits and experts to come and pass on personal experience or historical knowledge.

Throughout their time at Kempsey Primary School, the children will learn about their local history focusing on how Kempsey and Worcester have developed over the years, they will time travel to ancient civilisations, explore world wars and board the Titanic along with their fellow passengers. With the Olympics, Paralympics, Commonwealth Games, Football, Tennis and Rugby tournaments among many others taking place across the world, the children will have opportunities to learn how traditions started, evolved and compare what they are like today.

We believe the children should be immersed in History from Reception all the way up to Year 6 and beyond and be given opportunities to become inquisitive learners who challenge themselves and develop a thirst for understanding events of the past and how these can effect our future.
