Spring Term

Week 11: 21.3.22 - 25.3.22

Beech class had lots of fun during a science experiment as part of our Personal Hygiene topic. We used plaque disclosing tablets to discover how well we brushed our teeth. We really enjoyed the investigation and thought having a purple mouth was awesome! It made us realise that we need to be extra careful when brushing our teeth and make sure we reach all the corners of our mouths!

Week 10: 14.3.22 - 18.3.22

As part of Science Week, we completed several exciting activities to do with Science! We travelled to Mars and explored the scenery, we were surprised that it looks quite similar to earth! After that, we designed our own Mars Rover to go to Mars and explore.
In DT, we are looking at what makes a healthy diet. This week, we got to taste a variety of healthy foods, some that we had seen before and some that were new! Check out some pictures of us tasting the food.

Week 9: 7.3.22 - 11.3.22

Beech class have completed lots of reading this week, a total of 96 reading sessions at home! Reading for enjoyment opens so many doors, encourages plenty of imagination and can help to improve writing. Let's see if we can beat 96 sessions next week!

Week 8: 28.2.22 - 4.3.22

Beech class thoroughly enjoyed World Book Day, dressing up as a variety of characters from our favourite books! Check out our dress up below, which is your favourite?

Week 7: 14.2.22 - 18.2.22

Wellbeing Week has been a great opportunity for us to talk about feelings and different ways that we can express our emotions. We have tried out some methods to help calm ourselves down and will continue these for the rest of the year. We enjoyed demolishing cookies and using our bodies to complete the Secret Task - check out our entry below!

Week 6: 7.2.22 - 11.2.22

The children in Beech have been kept very busy this week, particularly in Maths where we have focused on tally charts. We went on a shape hunt around the playground and recorded all of the 2D shapes we saw on a tally chart!

Week 5: 31.1.22 - 4.2.22

We have had a very busy and exciting week this week! We joined in with a BBC live lesson and learnt about the parts of a plant and how some seeds are dispersed. We finished the week by watching the Winter Olympic opening ceremony and were all thoroughly engaged in the show! Check out some pictures below!

Week 4: 24.1.22 - 28.1.22

This week has been a strange one to say the least! We missed all of our friends but I loved seeing the hard work completed by some of you at home! In school, we painted some 'watercolour wash' backgrounds in the style of Paul Klee. We also played charades to prompt ideas about the jobs Florence Nightingale would have done, check out some of our actions below!

Week 2: 10.1.22 - 14.1.22

This week has been full of excitement, what with the panto, forest school and plenty of fun during our lessons. Check out some pictures of our very chilly visit to forest school this morning!

Week 1: 03.1.22 - 7.1.22

The children have all been brilliant since returning to school. After taking down our Christmas door decorations, we had to come up with something new! Check out our new design below. We think the children in Beech are "The Best of the Bunch!"
