To learn with respect and belief; to challenge, create and dream!

Minibeasts

19.5.2023

This week we continued with our exploration of work based on Superworm. We used the feeling, noticing, action, asking and smelling lenses to create meaningful sentences each day which have reflected different plot points inn the story.

In maths we have identified numbers on a hundred square and started spotting some of the patterns we see when moving up and down. We went on a ‘right angle’ hunt with our angle eaters and then sorted right angled triangles from other triangles.

Forest school was amazing because the cow parsley made it feel like a jungle. We made wormeries and collected lots of worms to put in them!

We started our new story this week which was based on ‘Superworm’. We have written some fantastic sentences using the lenses from The Write Stuff and expored a variety of new vocabulary which we hadn’t thought of before. We learnt some interesting facts about earthworms and were amazed that they can live for 20 years! We will be carrying on exploring plot points from this story next week.

In maths we have been concentrating on one more and one fewer by moving along the numberlines in the correct direction and identifying the number we have landed on. This has consolidated our recognition of numbers 11-20.
