My Cat Likes to Hide in Boxes Spring 2

On our travels to Japan...

25.3.22

When in Norway…

Our week has been filled and the children are very tired!
We hope you enjoy looking at just a glimpse of what we have been up to this week in class.

On Wednesday 16th March we traveled to Spain!

11.3.22

Hello all,

It has been another great week in Chestnut Class. The children have excelled this week in both English and Maths, they all deserve a round of applause. They have been naming 3D shapes, building 3D shapes and printing with 3D shapes. In English we have looked at famous French buildings and in particular, the Eiffel Tower. The children have decided that they would all like to visit Paris to see it in person! If you get chance to ask your child when the Eiffel tower was built and who it was designed by I am sure you will be impressed (or at the very least cheered up) with their answers!

28.2.22

In maths this week the children have been working hard to identify all the different ways of making 10.

This week we have begun our new topic 'Cats'. The book we are focusing on is called, 'My cat likes to hide in boxes'. We have began the topic by discussing everything we know about cats and identifying questions we would like to have answered during this topic.

Following this, we began looking at rhyming words. The children had a go at making a rhyming string for the word 'cat'. They enjoyed creating both real and nonsense words during this activity!

The story begins by stating that a cat from France likes to sing and dance, therefore, the first part of the world we will be exploring is... France!
