Welcome to Willow Class!

Willow is a Year 6 class taught by Mr Ricks and Mrs Driessen.


The Willow tree represents balance, learning, growth, and harmony. The strength, stability, and structure of the trunk, standing firm and withstanding the greatest of challenges. The branches are flexible and strong, bending without breaking.

For the next two weeks we are using a short video called The Lighthouse as our stimulus in English. Today we did some ‘hot seating’ to create a character profile of the Lighthouse Keeper.

LO: to create a PowerPoint quiz using hyperlinks. 14.10.20

Willow Class have planned and produced some fantastic PowerPoint presentations. The children designed an interactive quiz using hyperlinks. They got to try out each others, and show off their work to Mrs Baynes.

LO: to sort and classify materials 05.10.20

The children were given a range of images depicting different materials and reactions. They were tasked with sorting the images into groups that they defined themselves, and then explaining / justifying their reasoning for these groups. We discussed reversible and irreversible reactions and the properties of different materials.

Today we have launched our new topic... Ancient Maya!
