What's Happening in Class (Autumn 2)

Week Beginning 7th December
This week the children thought about how and why we remember the past. We thought about some of the symbols (poppies for remembrance) that we see, some of the artefacts that are kept in museums (Samuel Pepys diary entry) and some of the monuments that are built to commemorate important events. The children enjoyed sketching the Great fire of London Monument.

Anti-Bullying Week: 16th November 2020
The children completed a number of different activities this week. They created their own super hero and thought about which characteristics they would have; discussed the people they could turn to if they needed support and thought about the strength there could be if we all stood up to bullying together.
Week Beginning 2nd November 2020
This week we have been exploring our own history thinking about chronology. We organised months and days of the week, and then thought about the idea of a timeline. There is also a document which shows the questions the children wanted to ask about 4 paintings from the 17th century, and a lesson where we considered how London has changed. The children had to sort some pictures and then explain what they had noticed.
