Sycamore

Welcome to Sycamore Class

Since ancient history, there have been images of the sycamore depicted in many forms. No matter what your beliefs stem from, it's clear that the existence of a sycamore tree in a text can mean a number of different things, but ultimately, it's a symbol of strength, protection, reliability and clarity.

Sycamore is a Year 5 class

We believe in celebrating all that makes us unique as well as recognising that all that makes us pulls us together. We are open-minded, receptive to the views of others and inquisitive about the world.

We are taught by Mr Willetts, Miss Hudson and Mrs Curtis.

Healthy Body, Healthy Mind - Monday 26th April

Today we joined in with a whole school focus of "Healthy Body, Healthy Mind". We started the day with the teachers showing the children how it's done with a 20 minute workout! The children cheered us on and were motivated to have a go with their session later on in the day. The children worked in small groups and did a carousel of activities. The sun was shining and we had a fantastic time!

This afternoon we talked a lot about how we can keep our mind healthy. We looked at the word "Mindfulness" and thought about how it could apply to us, what it means and what we could do to be mindful. We also learned about our "Inner Chimp" and how to control it - ask your child to tell you all about it if you're not sure!
