Welcome to Redwood Class!
Redwood is a Year 6 class taught by Miss Underwood and Mrs Nash.
Redwood trees can grow for 1000 years and include some of the largest trees on Earth.
The Redwood tree is considered to be a symbolism of wellness, safety, longevity and wisdom.
Science Week (wc 8.3.21)
This week has been Science week. We have engaged in a number of activities, including watching the special assembly; discussing innovations and inventions; learning about micro-organisms and launching our new topic of Evolution. We have more experiments related to our new topic planned for next week.

Irreversible changes in Science today (25/11/20)
Anti-bullying week (16th - 20th November 2020)
This week is anti-bullying week and the theme for this year is ‘united against bullying’. As well as ‘odd socks day’ on Wednesday, we will be having PSHE sessions to learn about bullying and how to prevent it. Below is a photo of us watching an assembly that was specially prepared and recorded for us by Mrs Baynes and our anti-bullying ambassadors.
Creating non-linear presentations by using hyperlinks 6/10/20
Today we have launched our new topic... Ancient Maya!
We will be using this topic for work across the curriculum over the next few weeks. Keep checking back to see what we get up to.

Inside Out - Whole School Topic
For the first two weeks of the academic new year, we are using Pixar's 'Inside Out' as a whole school topic. This topic is predominantly PSHE based and is intended to provide a platform for us to discuss emotions, following the very unusual events of 2020 so far!
