Pupil Parliament

Autumn Term

Each class held an election at the beginning of the year to select the class representatives. We ended up with a Pupil Parliament made up of 32 children - 2 from each class from Year 1 upwards, 4 extra children from Year 6 whose role is to be the representative for Ash and Chestnut (reception classes) and the four Head Boys and Head Girls.

We have met regularly this term and discussed a variety of matters relating to school life. We have also been speaking to Mrs Baynes and Mr Willetts to try and persuade them to let us do our ideas.

So far, we have raised awareness of the Food Bank, creating posters to go around school and we have created a section on the webpage that will be updated each half term. We have completed a display board in school and come up with a range of ideas, most that will be implemented during the Spring and Summer terms. These include; a fundraiser for a local animal charity, a whole school theme for World Book Day and after-school clubs including Athletics and Art.

In the picture below, you can see the children that make up our Pupil Parliament. Feel free to say hello around school, you will be able to recognise them by their blue Pupil Parliament badges!
