Yesterday the children came to school dressed in 'party clothes' to raise money for Christian Aid. We were joined in assembly by the Rev Owain Bell and a special guest, Katmaan, who is from Nigeria. Owain was so impressed during his visit to KPS, sending us the lovely message below:
I will write to the children very soon but I had to let you know that this morning was a sheer delight from start to finish.
The welcome we were given, the help of staff and the enthusiasm of the children really raised my spirits. And Katmaan ,who was with me ,loved every moment and looked dazzling in her West African dress. Her hair , which took 10 hours to braid, created quite a stir. And it was such fun!!
Wonderful to see and hear the children swaying to the traditional music and joining in a simple song from West Africa. And they listened very attentively. Yours really is a superb school.
The total you raised and which we banked this afternoon was £316. A mammoth total......I could hardly believe it.
Thank you so much for making all this possible. As I say I will write properly but please, in the meantime, can you thank the staff who were so supportive and friendly? What a difference that makes!
All the very best,
