Daily Maths Activites

Maths Activities

This week, the Maths activities follow a similar structure to last week's. Start by watching the video, then work through the lesson activities. Once you have finished, you can check your answers.

This week, we are also including a daily 'creative at home' Maths activity. You do not have to do these, but they are great to have a go at if you would like an extra challenge!

Happy Friday! Start by watching the video for your year group which for today is 'Lesson 5 - Equivalent fractions' (for year 3s) or 'Lesson 5 - Divide 1 or 2 digits by 100' (for year 4s). Don't forget to check your answers afterwards!

Year 3 Creative at Home activity

Use your angle eater to investigate where two straight lines meet on objects in your home. Can you find right angles in your home? Can you find angles that are smaller than a right angle or larger than a right angle?

Year 4 Creative at Home activity

Go and look in your sock drawer. How many pairs of socks do you have? What different colours of socks do you own? How many of them are patterned? How many of them are plain? Are there any other ways that you could put your socks into categories?
Using this information express your sock draw in fractions, e.g. ¼ of my socks are patterned ½ of my socks are white
When you have finished, make sure all of your socks are in pairs and put them away in your drawer.
