English Activity - Thursday 21.05.2020

Today in English, you are going to write a first draft of your fable, using your plan from yesterday to help you.

Remember to keep thinking carefully about the moral of your story, you want the people reading your story to learn a lesson by reading it. Tomorrow, we will be up-levelling our stories to make them even better.

Below is an outline of how you could set your story out, adding illustrations for each part of your story. Remember to keep it short too!

English Activity - Wednesday 20.05.2020

Below is your English activity for today. This week, we're writing our own fables. Today, you're going to think about what moral your want your fable to have and you'll start to plan your fable.

Start by working through the PowerPoint below. There is also a planning sheet below, you can use this or you can write it straight onto paper.

English Activity - Tuesday 19.05.2020

This week, we are going to be writing fables. Fables usually have a moral, this is a teaching, for example, the moral of 'The Tortoise and the Hare' is that slow and steady wins the race. Below is a fable called 'The Lion and the Mouse'. Read it through and answer the questions about it. When you've finished, check your answers. There are two levels of challenge for this (you only need to pick one). Challenge 2 is a little bit trickier than challenge 1.

Once you have finished this, there is also a link to a set of Aesop's Fables. Listen to 2 or 3 and see if you can figure out what the moral of each fable is.

English Activity - Monday 18.05.2020

As said last week, today's lesson gives you time to finish your biography of an important person in your life. Once you have completed it, check through the checklist below to see if you've added all of the features of a biography.

If you finish quickly (or if you've already finished), I have also attached a BBC Bitesize lesson on similes and metaphors which might help with this week's task!
