Bears (Spring 1 2019)
This topic has kept us really busy! We read a variety of stories about bears such as 'We're going on a Bear Hunt', 'This is the Bear and the Picnic Lunch' and 'The Little Mouse, the Read Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear. The children retold and ordered these stories and picked out adjectives and verbs.
Some of our maths activities have include counting bears, placing bears in number order and organising bears into size order. We have measured the children's own bears and their friend's bears so that they could compare their heights.
We have researched facts about a variety of bears around the world, have created our own bears and drawn our favourite bears. We have cut out bears and created bears using playdough.
Poor T-T wrote to us very upset because he had lost his bear and asked us to help him find it but sadly we couldn't. It all worked out in the end though because T-T found out his bear had gone into hibernation for a little while and he was sure he would be back in the Spring.
It has been a jam packed bear filled few weeks which are now coming to an end. Next week we will look forward to sharing with you our Teddy Bears Picnic in Forest School. Come back soon to see the photographs of us making the picnic and enjoying our afternoon in Forest School!
