Science Week 2019
Reception children enjoyed a HUET 'Knowledge and Understanding of the World' day at Hanley Swan Primary where they met and worked with other Reception children from Welland Primary and Hanley Swan Primary. The theme was movement and transport and the children made parachutes, planes and boats. They also rolled cars down a variety of ramps to see which could be the fastest and shared journeys on the train track. The children listened to instructions carefully, carried out activities with thought and consideration to others around them and completed challenges with determination and resilience. They were a credit to our school.
Other activities we have done this week include:
- creating potions
- investigating whether you can balance a coin on a floating lemon
- investigating which ingredients would dissolve into water and how quickly
- creating a circuit
- observing what happens to spaghetti when it is soaked in water
