Detectives

October 18th 2018

This week we asked Twinkle, our fairy, if she could bring them a ‘real’ dinosaur and they told her their favourite was a T-Rex! Unfortunately, although this ‘wish’ was granted it had escaped before we had arrived in school on Tuesday morning. We had to ask the builders if they had seen it in the new classrooms (they had seen footprints and had to repaint some scratches on the walls) Chris in the kitchen (who had to clean up footprints and buy more chicken from Tesco as hers had been taken) and we asked in the office if they could look back on the CCTV cameras from around the school. The CCTV cameras did indeed show a T-Rex exploring our school. He even came back to eat some biscuits we made for him! Our fairy wrote to us to say she has sent our letters to him which contain lots of questions and as he is a friendly but shy dinosaur she is sure he will reply soon.

Here are some snapshots of what we saw on CCTV!

October 1st 2018

Today we started our 'Detectives' topic. For our launch day we mixed all of the children from Reception and Key Stage 1 into new groups and took it in turns to take part in a variety of activities linked to 'Autumn'. The children really enjoyed making new friends from other classes.

Our topic will involve us looking at a variety of clues so keep checking back here for updates of what our detective work involves each week.
